Jeff is the Strategic Advisor for the Human Systems Integration Division at NASA Ames Research Center. Previously, he worked in Project Constellation as Lead of the Data Acquisition Team and as Deputy Manager for the Space Human Factors Engineering project. Over 2004-2005, he was at NASA Headquarters as the Human Factors Representative to the Requirements Division. Prior to working at NASA Headquarters, he was the Co-Lead for the Human Factors Team for developing display user interfaces in the Space Shuttle cockpit. He started at NASA in 1996 writing image processing algorithms and investigating perceptual issues associated with virtual environments. Jeff attended graduate school at the University of California at Berkeley, where he received a Ph.D. in Vision Science and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University. Jeff has over 30 publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings. In his spare time, he enjoys flying Piper Archers and Piper Warriors over northern California. |
